CMS is launching the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge demonstration July 1, 2026. The Bridge program will provide eligible Medicare beneficiaries with access to select medications used to support weight loss in the treatment of obesity. The medications included in this program are: Foundayo®, Wegovy® (injection and tablets) and Zepbound® (KwikPen®). Important reminders:

CMS, through its central processor, will manage all prior authorizations, pharmacy payments and claims.

You are ineligible if you are already receiving one of these medications through your Part D plan for conditions other than weight loss.

You need to initiate a prior authorization with a physician which does not have to be your primary care provider.
